JazzMN Big Band 2007-08 Concert Series
JazzMN continues its history of bringing top-flight guest artists to the Twin Cities’ jazz audience, many guests not otherwise accessible except with superb big bands such as JazzMN.
All Concerts presented at 7;30 pm at Hopkins High School Performing Arts Center.
Trumpeter Wayne Bergeron is one of the most active players on the Los Angeles scene. A former Maynard Ferguson sideman, Bergeron's first solo Big Band CD entitled "You Call This A Living?" earned him a Grammy nomination in 2004 for Best Large Jazz Ensemble.
One of the country's foremost woodwind artists, Chris Vadala is in demand as a jazz/classical performer and educator. He has appeared on more than 100 recordings to date, as well as innumerable jingle sessions, film and TV scores, performing on all the saxophones, flutes, and clarinets.
With his gift for bebop, ballads, blues, and swinging jazz, Kevin Mahogany has proved to be the quintessential jazz vocalist. Newsweek describes him as " the standout jazz vocalist of his generation."
