Michael Philip Mossman, trumpet

Grammy-nominated Mossman is well known for playing lead trumpet with the Lincoln Center Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra and for many exciting big band compositions & arrangements. He has played trumpet with Latin jazz greats like Tito Puente and Paquito D’Rivera and has composed for the Basie and Mingus orchestras.

Kenton’s 100th Kickoff

JazzMN will begin Stan Kenton’s 100th birthday celebration with an expanded 10-piece brass section. The “Biographical Encyclopedia of Jazz” lists Stephanie Nakasian as one of the world’s leading jazz singers. Stephanie will be offering wonderful vocal tributes to June Christy for a little icing on Kenton’s cake.

In 2009, Stern was named during Downbeat’s 75th Anniversary as one of the best 75 guitarists ever. Add Stern to the mighty JazzMN band, and we’ll have an extraordinary night to remember.

As LA’s top-call jazz trombonist, Andy plays with the bands of Gordon Goodwin, Bill Holman, and Tom Kubis. His music is heard from TV’s Dancing with the Stars and American Idol to movies like Mission Impossible and The Lion King. Andy takes a night off from the City of Angels to let loose with JazzMN. We’ll set the table for a T-bone like you’ve never experienced for our season finale.
