Kenny Drew Jr. is a jazz pianist with a style reminiscent of Oscar Peterson. The son of former John Coltrane sideman Kenny Drew, Drew Jr. has performed with such luminaries as Stanley Turrentine, Slide Hampton, Stanley Jordan, and the Mingus Big Band.

Tito Puente was a pioneering force in jazz, creating a new fusion of big band, Latin and salsa music. The JazzMN Orchestra and Twin Cities percussionist Rey Rivera will guide us in honoring Tito by performing his original transcripts, along with many works inspired by this jazz legend.

Grammy Award-winning group New York Voices is celebrating its 25 th anniversary of excellence as a jazz vocal ensemble. The singers are known for close-knit voicings, inspired arrangements and unparalleled vocal blend. Though rooted in jazz, their performances are often infused with Brazilian, R & B, classical and pop influences.

Multiple Grammy nominee and Guggenheim and MacArthur fellow Miguel Zenón is perhaps the most celebrated alto saxophonist of his generation. The Puerto Rican native represents a unique voice, fusing jazz, Latin and classical influences in his music. He has released six recordings as a leader, including the Grammy-nominated Alma Adentro.
